ELECTION DAY 2012

Yesterday I worked the polls in Cambridge, MA from 6AM until 11PM. I was part of the University Poll Project, which promoted poll working among College students and helped the City of Boston hire poll workers from Suffolk.
When I was working the polls I was happy to see about a 73% turnout for the precinct I was working in. Less than what I wanted to see but I was happy.
And in Massachusetts it was nice to see so many people coming out to vote, whether they were voting for President, Senator, Town, or Ballot Questions, they voted. After a semester long process of trying to get everyone registered to vote, to be poll workers, and then actually go vote, it will be nice to see it all come to a close now.
Whether or not you are happy with the result of the President, your State Congress Race, or individual ballot questions, this is democracy at its finest. If there was something you didn’t like from this outcome you can change it in 2 years or four years with another race. Grassroot campaigns are always getting stronger and the country is always progressing.
Remember to go vote!!! Happy Election Season!!!
